With more than five decades of professional art and design experience, Mr. Thorns attributes his achievements to being a Bauhaus-trained artist with established goals and a determination to succeed. He currently splits his time across Designmark, Fort Hays State University and The Hadley Arts Foundation as an art educator and consultant. An award-winning, he holds a Master of Fine Arts in interior architecture and design, and a Master of Arts in art history from The University of Iowa and Indiana University, respectively. Driven by a tireless work ethic, he continually creates 10 to 15 paintings per year as well as collages of landscapes using photographic materials from magazines.
