PRESCOTT, AZ, October 11, 2013, Merry Nebeker, Director of Public Relations for Western Sculpture, Inc., has been recognized by Elite American Artists for dedication, achievements and leadership in promoting art and advising artists.
At an art show at the age of 17, Mrs. Nebeker experienced an epiphany. She realized the value of real art and wanted to be a part of the industry’s culture. Mrs. Nebeker made connections with budding artists and gained extensive experience managing galleries and shows. Her appreciation for the arts continues to grow today as she serves Western Sculpture, Inc., an art gallery that features pieces by Bill Nebeker, as the director of public relations. In her position, Mrs. Nebeker is responsible for getting the community involved, contacting art galleries and museums to promote her boss’s products, proposing, developing and producing art shows and exhibitions, hiring professional photographers to make digital images for magazine ads, museum catalogs, gallery advertising and the big banners, and writing magazine articles and biographies for that whole group of artists.
Mrs. Nebeker also shares her knowledge and consults with aspiring artists. She teaches them that talent is not the most important part of being an artist. Mrs. Nebeker understands firsthand that determination, persistence, getting yourself out there, and driving yourself to be visible in the market are the key factors in achieving artistic success. Mrs. Nebeker attributes her own professional success to her love of the subject matter, the historic stories that are told, the people she has met, and the Native American friends she has made. In the coming years, she would like to continue working with aspiring artists and helping them network.
