Dr. Anne Clark is a highly regarded and talented individual who has dedicated her life to creating, playing and teaching music. She is a self-employed musician, musical director, and music business sole proprietor who takes ideas from her imagination and turns them into something spectacular and new. Dr. Clark’s accomplishments range far and wide, and include performing the Kodaly Sonata for Solo Cello from memory twice, authoring scripts, lesson plans, original songs and scores, creating string programs in two different communities, Junction City/Ft. Riley and Green, Kan., and earning a grant for “Ducktails” through the Puffin Foundation Ltd, and grants from Kansas Arts Foundation and Rislov Foundation. She believes that one of her greatest achievements has been touching the lives of countless aspiring musicians by directing the Community Chamber Orchestra LLC since 1997. The Community Chamber Orchestra LLC is the only community based orchestra in the nation that uses a business model with payroll for the musicians, regardless of their technical level. Dr. Clark and the orchestra conduct music performances that incorporate history, dance, drama, photography, puppetry, and music appreciation. Aside from the time she dedicates to the orchestra, Dr. Clark also works with individuals and groups who want to learn how to play the cello or string instruments. She gives private lessons to children and adults, from preschoolers to senior citizens, and gives weekly class string lessons to students. Dr. Clark considers it an obligation and a privilege to develop and share the gifts that God has entrusted to her. Despite the struggle to earn wages in her profession, she has always experienced pure delight in performing the cello and encouraging others to be involved in artistic creativity throughout their lives. Dr. Clark earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in cello performance at The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Music in music education, with a concentration in cello performance, at SIUE, and a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Dr. Clark looks to continue using her talents to assist her daughter, who is a singer and songwriter, in becoming successful.
